Four men who were shot in a spate of overnight paramilitary-style attacks were being treated in hospital in Northern Ireland today, police said.
A 21-year-old was shot in both hands and both legs in a vicious attack late at Butler Place in the Ardoyne area of North Belfast.
In a separate shooting, in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, a 24-year-old man was approached from behind by two masked men as he walked down the street and was shot in the leg.
A 19-year-old in Larne, Co Antrim was seized, bundled into the boot of a car with a bag over his head and driven off to a spot where he was assaulted and shot in the arm and leg.
Another 19-year-old was targeted at Newtownabbey, Co Antrim. He was found at the rear of houses at Tynan Close, Monkstown, after being shot in both calves.
