Fears are growing for a teenage boy who went missing after telling his sister he was going for a walk by a canal.

Greater Manchester Police are becoming "increasingly concerned" for the welfare of Dylan Winnie, from Rochdale, who was last seen at 4.45pm on Thursday.

Dylan, who does not have any money or his phone with him, was wearing a blue T-shirt with a shark on the front, light blue jeans and carrying a blue rucksack.

Police said his disappearance remained unexplained.

Rachel Sykes, his mother, told the Manchester Evening News she was desperate to see Dylan again and asked anyone who could help in the search for her son to come forward.

She said: "I love him and I just want him home.

"I want to be able to hold him. I just want to see his face."

He was last seen at a bus stop outside the Wellfield Centre on Oldham Road in Rochdale by his sister.

Dylan had told her he was going for a walk along the Rochdale canal but he failed to return home.

He is described as white, slim and around 5ft 7in with short brown hair.

Anyone who has seen Dylan or has any idea where he could be is asked to contact police as soon as possible on 101 quoting reference number MP/07/0025146.
