A father of three who survived a heart transplant died of Legionnaires' disease while recovering in the same hospital. David Parry, 51, of Whitwell, Isle of Wight, was making excellent progress before he was infected. An investigation to find the source of the infection was launched at St George's Hospital, south-west London. A spokesman said no other cases had been identified.
