Experimental sunflowers in Suffolk

John Thorpe, of Soufflet Agriculture, among the semi-dwarf variety of sunflowers being grown as an experimental crop on 50 acres at Lodge Farm, Ingham, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. When they are harvested in the autumn, the seeds will be used to make cooking oil and margarine. The French-based company has a Suffolk office specialising in alternative crops
