A dispute over a Lords committee on medical ethics began when it was announced that it would be chaired by Lord Walton and its members would include Baroness Warnock and Baroness Jay. The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children accused the Government of packing it with euthenasia supporters, which was denied by Lord Walton, an independent peer.
