An inquiry was launched after a British Airways Boeing 737 jet narrowly missed a glider at 4,600ft 14 miles south-east of Birmingham International Airport.
The Civil Aviation Authority said the Boeing, en route from Berlin, reported the miss on Monday. A spokeswoman for BA said there had been no danger to the Boeing.
