ABOUT 15 people, including four children, were killed when a mudslide tore through a Peruvian Amazon village, authorities said yesterday.
The victims were in their homes late on Monday when the mudslide swept away a dozen houses, a bridge and several hundred metres of highway, said a civil defence chief, Col Victor Belleza. The tragedy was in the district of Jazan, 850 miles (1,360km) north-east of Lima.
