Mr Robert Newell received the guests at a reception held yesterday evening at the Royal Festival Hall, London SE1. The 's Final Concert and Award Ceremony of the 42nd Annual Music Competition was held afterwards at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London SE1. Dr Philip Ledger, Principal, Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama presented prizes at the concert. Lady Barbirolli was the chairman of the panel of adjudicators.
