Tim Ward, footballer and manager, died 28 January, aged 75. Cheltenham-born, Ward won two England caps as a stylish wing-half with Derby County and also played for Barnsley. Later managed both clubs, being Brian Clough and Peter Taylor's immediate predecessor at Derby, as well as Exeter City (for only eight days), Grimsby Town and Carlisle United.
