The Right Rev John Daly, priest, died 15 August, aged 90. Ordained in 1926, he was chosen as the first bishop of the new diocese of Gambia, which included French and Portuguese Guinea and Senegal and had only two Anglican priests. In 1955 he was appointed bishop of Korea. Became assistant bishop of Coventry in 1968.
