Funds from Ivanka Trump’s purchase will be donated to gun safety, immigrants and Hillary Clinton

Ivanka Trump received a hand-written note with her jewellery order that may have taken her by surprise.

Lady Grey Jewelry, based in Brooklyn, sent Donald Trump’s oldest daughter a message alongside her order.

The brand’s co-founders, Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader, posted a picture of their message on Instagram.

“Dear Ivanka, thank you so much for your web order! We’re happy to let you know that the proceeds of your sale have been generously donated to the American Immigration Council, the Everytown for Gun Safety Organization, and the Hillary Clinton campaign. We hope you enjoy your new Lady Grey #helixearcuff.”

The business women signed their names at the bottom.

Speaking to Refinery29, the women said they were “flattered” that the nominee’s daughter was a customer but they disagreed with Mr Trump’s presidential campaign.

“When we received her order, we instantly felt compelled to take the money and donate it to a few organisations that were more aligned with our ideals,” they said.

The company appears to have violated its own privacy policy, which states they do not use a client’s personal information unless they ask the customer directly for consent or provide the customer with an opportunity to refuse.

In another clause, the company says it reserves the right to change their privacy policy at any time.

The news comes the same week that Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, told Esquire magazine that his younger brother, Josh, was a lifelong democrat and “would not be voting for Donald Trump in November”.

The Trump campaign could not be immediately reached for comment.
