Michel Duchaussoy: Actor who dubbed the voice of Don Corleone

Michel Duchaussoy, who died on 13 March at the age of 73, was a French film actor who appeared in over 130 films between 1962 and 2012.

Duchaussoy also performed in many French classic plays, including by Molière, Marivaux, Corneille and Ionesco; he received the Molière Award for best supporting actor in 2003.

His deep voice made him ideal to dub Marlon Brando in the French version of The Godfather. "He had a great sense of humour and was always laughing," The director Patrice Leconte said. "And that's a lesson for many of us, that he did not take himself too seriously."
