The number of possible cases of salmonella food poisoning linked with a Perth hotel has now reached 125, health officials said last night.
Fifty-nine cases have been confirmed and a further 66 are suspected, said officials from Tayside Health Board investigating the scare at the Isle of Skye Hotel. Officials said the outbreak control team was now "fairly sure" the outbreak was under control, although the number of confirmed cases is expected to continue rising over the next few days. Investigators are to redouble their efforts to identify the cause of the outbreak.
