Leading article: Anglia Ruskin University's lasting legacy

Anglia Ruskin University is largely unknown to the British public, partly because it changed its name but also because it has not made an impact nationally. Now that much of its campus is being rebuilt, like many other universities around the country, and that its plan to open centres in towns all over the east of England is nearing fruition, it is gaining in confidence. If it can really begin to emulate a university like Penn State in the US - and provide high-quality courses of all kinds to the people of Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk - it will leave a lasting legacy.
