Leigh Centurions, currently bottom of the First Division, have signed three players from Super League's Wigan Warriors - half-back Keiron Purtill in a permanent deal and the forwards Andy Grundy and David Whittle on loan.

Matthew Burke has been cleared to make his return to the New South Wales team for their game against defending Super 12 champions, the Auckland Blues on Monday. The Australian Test full-back missed the Waratahs' last three outings after straining medial ligaments in his right knee. NSW will have to do without their scrum-half Sam Payne who damaged his cruciate and lateral ligaments last week and is out of action for the rest of the year.
