r Antonov, with a new automatic transmission system, motored 13p to 106p as it heeded market complaints about a lack of information about its progress. It said it had inked two Far East deals - a production agreement with an unidentified Asian group and a consultancy with a Japanese car producer, thought to be Honda.

The market expects more deals soon. The group came to market through a share placing at 40p last year on the old 4.2 market. It is now traded on AIM.

r Jim Keir, ex-Amersham International, has been accorded a rapturous welcome since he became chairman of Biotrace International, the health- care group, less than a fortnight ago. The shares were 38.5p when he arrived. Yesterday they gained a further 10p to 64p.
