ATLANTIC TELECOM, the supplier of fixed radio access telecom lines in Scotland, is to trial new technology that would allow it to offer high- speed Internet services to its customers. The company is starting a trial in July with technology supplied by RDC, an Israeli group, that supports data speeds of up to 3.2 Megabits per second - more than 50 times faster than a conventional modem. If successful, the service could be available by the end of the year.
