US STOCKS slid yesterday amid concerns that Congress will impeach US President Bill Clinton.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 126.16 points, or 1.43 per cent, at 8,695.6, its worst closing level in about six weeks.
Technology companies posted some of the market's greatest losses, with the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite index shedding 62.45 points, or 3.08 per cent, to close at 1,966.86.
