Celine Dion says she misses 'everything' about late husband René Angélil

Celine Dion has revealed what she misses the most about her late husband Rene Angelil, stating that he will always be with her.

While speaking with television personality and journalist Gayle King on CBS This Morning about her new album Courage, the singer opened up about the emotional impact of Angelil’s death in 2016.

“When I look back, my family went through a lot,” Dion said. “Losing my husband, my manager, the father of my kids, my friend, I feel his vibration and his support. Forever.”

When asked by King what she misses most about her husband of 22 years, Dion replied: “Everything.”

“His smell, his touch, his way of making me laugh,” she said, adding that when she stays in hotels while she is on tour, she no longer has “any pillow talk”.

Dion explained that Angelil “will always” be with her, saying that she no longer feels as though she is in pain.

“Let go of the pain,” the Canadian singer said, referencing a lyric from Courage track “Say Yes”.

“Say yes, Say yes for the dance. Say for friendship. Say yes for love maybe one day.”

When asked by King whether she is open to the prospect of falling in love again one day, Dion said that while she is “open” to the idea, she does not feel ready.

“I’m not stressed at all,” she stated. “I’m enjoying my life so much more now than ever before.”

Dion recently delivered a powerful response to body-shamers, saying “you can’t please everyone”.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight Canada, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer condemned critics who place greater focus on her slim appearance than on the achievements of her career.

“If you don’t want to be criticised, you are in the wrong place,” she stated.

“I take what’s good for me. I leave behind what is not good for me. I let my management take care of that, and if it hurts anyone, they will take care of that. And I need to focus on what’s right for me, how I feel and, last but not least, you can’t please everybody.”
