Surely the point about Deborah Eappen ("It's always women's fault", 16 November) is not that she is a working mother. Only in the 20th century has prosperity allowed some women not to work. The point is that, with her family's resources, she and her husband chose to pay the person caring for their sons rather less than they would pay a cleaner.
