On September 27, the world's first organized Twitter chat launched #MD_Chat.

There already exists a similar chat for nurses (#RN_Chat) and the popular #HCSM (healthcare social media) as well as an influence ranking of doctors using Twitter ( http://twitterdoctors.net/).

At the time of this writing MD_Chat had 23 followers retweeting the announcement and tweeting about the need for "engaged docs," cancer caregiver survey for needs assessment, a hospital with a music studio for creative cancer therapy and how physicians need to take control over medication.

Specific discussions can be suggested "either by replying to this account [ https://twitter.com/MD_chat] or emailing info@mdchat.org."
