Over-the-counter pregnancy tests often claim to be able to give results within a day of a missed period, but they can be wrong if women drink coffee or alcohol beforehand, warns a report in Pulse. The makers of one kit say 52 substances, including caffeine, alcohol, aspirin and the Pill, can cause false positive results when tests are used soon after a missed period.
