Experts have warned of the dangers of hair straighteners after it emerged hundreds of children have been burned by the devices.

In the past five years, Frenchay Hospital in Bristol has treated 110 children hurt by them.

Experts demonstrated the hazards of the irons by frying eggs on them. The metal plates can reach up to 230C.
