Wines of the week: Three bottles for the Bank Holiday weekend
Terry Kirby selects the best bottles to buy

It's a Bank Holiday weekend, so, with fingers crossed for fine weather, here are three wines suitable for outdoor drinking…
A red
Tucumen Malbec 2014 Mendoza
A vibrant expression of purest Argentine Malbec – really fruity, juicy and accessible, but with that deeper, richer element that makes this grape so appealing. Wonderful with all barbecued meats and even robust grilled fish. £11.99 (or £7.99 each for two bottles if bought as part of six mixed bottles), Majestic
A white
Fresquito Pedro Ximenez 2014
The white wines of Montilla-Moriles in southern Spain are highly distinctive: made like nearby sherry, but not fortified and rarely seen in the UK. This is a young, very fresh wine, with interesting flavours of almonds and apples. An ideal aperitif with nibbles and brilliant with fish tapas. £9, Marks & Spencer
A rosé
Cotes du Rhône Rosé Château D'Ampuis 2011
Refreshing, full-bodied, elegant, made mainly from Grenache and Cinsault, delivering fresh red-berry flavours with touches of citrus and herbs and a little hit of spice. Drink seriously cold, on a warm night, with a big fish stew. £10.50, farehamwinecellar.co.uk
