Terry Kirby selects the best bottles to buy

From South Africa
Oldenburg Chenin Blanc 2014
Chenin Blanc grapes, with their distinctive honeysuckle, melon and apricot flavours, are here given complexity from French oak-barrel ageing by one of the country's best producers. Drink with garlicky fish dishes and pork belly with celeriac purée. £15.95, bbr.com; £15.99, ocado.com
From France
Domaine des Verchères Mâcon Villages 2012
Mâconnais wines tend to be full and rounded, and a combination of grapes from old Chardonnay vines and partial oak-ageing delivers even more depth of flavour here. The result is creamy yet spicy, with a refreshing citric tanginess. Goes with all white fish and simple shellfish, particularly scallops with black pudding. £12.49, laithwaites.co.uk
From Hungary
Furmint Tokaji 2014
The Furmint grape produces not only one of the world's most luscious dessert wines in Royal Tokaji but also this very dry, aromatic wine, with lingering flavours of baked orchard fruits, and hints of honey and lemons. Lovely as an aperitif with canapés or with most fish and chicken dishes. £10, Marks & Spencer
