Australian women's rugby team helps clean up city ahead of Rugby World Cup games in York
The Australian Women's Rugby World Cup team, the Wallaroos, helped refresh Yorkcity centre this week.
Seventeen players volunteered with the York BID team to paint benches, bike racks, and bollards along King's Staith riverside.
This volunteering effort was part of York's Rejuvenation project, aiming to brighten up the city after a busy summer.
The initiative also highlighted York's role as a host city for the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025, with six matches scheduled for York Community Stadium.
Carl Alsop, York BID operations manager, expressed his delight at welcoming the team, who recently drew 31-31 with the USA in York.
