The major sporting event that could take place at the White House next year
Trump reveals Dana White and a UFC fighter requested ballerina release from Russia
UFC president Dana White has announced that a fight event at the White House has been confirmed, stating, "We got it done."
The event is planned for 2026 on the South Lawn, intended to celebrate Independence Day and 250 years of the nation’s existence, a desire previously expressed by US president Donald Trump.
White had earlier raised concerns about the 25,000lb UFC cage's weight and potential weather issues, but now states the meeting "could not have gone better."
Despite expressing interest, White has played down the likelihood of Jon Jones fighting at the event, citing trust issues and giving "billion to one" odds.
Conor McGregor also re-entered the drug-test pool following reports of the event, though his career has been marred by legal issues and he is attempting to run for president in Ireland.
