  • AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw was on Tyneside to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed move to Newcastle.
  • The 24-year-old Germany international's transfer fee is understood to be an initial 35 million Euros, approximately £30.3 million.
  • Thiaw has made 85 appearances for the Serie A club since joining from Schalke in August 2022, including a Champions League match against Newcastle.
  • Should the deal be completed, Thiaw would become head coach Eddie Howe’s third senior recruit this summer, following Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale.
  • His arrival would strengthen Newcastle's central defensive options, providing respite for Howe amidst ongoing transfer challenges.
