Starmer incurs MP’s wrath for planned Israel president meeting
Furious Stephen Flynn condemns Keir Starmer meeting Israel's Isaac Herzog
Sir Keir Starmer's planned meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog has been strongly criticised by Stephen Flynn.
During Prime Minister's Questions, the SNP's Westminster leader condemned the invitation to Mr Herzog, citing his alleged call for the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.
Flynn highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, describing it as a 'graveyard' and questioning the decision to host Mr Herzog while children starve.
He challenged Sir Keir on whether he would extend invitations to other controversial figures such as Vladimir Putin or Benjamin Netanyahu.
Sir Keir Starmer defended his approach, stating that he would not abandon diplomacy in the pursuit of peace.
