‘Very mean’ squirrel attacks residents and sends at least two people to hospital

- At least two women, Joan Heblack and Isabel Campoy, required emergency medical treatment after being attacked.
- Heblack described a squirrel clamping onto her leg, while Campoy reported one launching itself at her face before landing on her arm, leaving it bloodied.
- The community has posted flyers warning others of a “very mean squirrel” in the area.
- Marin Humane said that such behaviour is often due to people feeding the animals, confirming squirrels are not vectors for rabies, and said it will coordinate removal if attacks recur.
