Heathrow Airport proposes major M25 overhaul as part of third runway plans
Heathrow unveil plans to upgrade UK's busiest motorway as part of third runway proposal
Heathrow Airport has unveiled plans to upgrade the M25 motorway as part of its project to add a third runway.
The airport intends to build a new, realigned section of the M25 on adjacent land, along with tunnels and bridges, to keep construction away from commuters.
The new infrastructure will be opened using carefully planned overnight closures, aiming for minimal disruption to journeys.
The project is 100% privately funded by Heathrow Airport and is expected to ease congestion and create a safer motorway.
