Israeli takeover threat looms for Greta Thunberg’s Gaza aid flotilla
Israeli warship 'aggressively circles Gaza aid flotilla'
Greta Thunberg’s aid flotilla, carrying around 500 activists from over 40 countries, was "aggressively circled" by an Israeli military vessel near the Gaza coast.
Activists said that the Israeli ship steered dangerously close, forcing evasive manoeuvres to avoid collision, and remotely disabled their communications on Tuesday night.
The Israeli Defence Forces are reportedly preparing for potential "active takeovers" of the vessels.
Activists could face detention and deportation.
The Global Sumud Flotilla had previously reported alleged attacks by Israeli drones in international waters off Crete on 23 September and an incident in Tunisian waters on 9 September.
