Italian Air Force F-35 fighter jets, currently deployed as part of the Nato Baltic Air Policing Mission, responded to Russia’s violation of Estonian airspace
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna described the incursion as "unprecedentedly brazen," marking the fourth such violation this year.
Nato responded immediately and intercepted the Russian jets which violated Estonian airspace, a Nato spokesperson said in a statement on social media X on Friday.
The Russian charge d’affaires was summoned and given a protest note, a ministry statement said.
