Emma Watson receives driving ban for speeding

  • Actor Emma Watson, known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, has been banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding.
  • She was driving 38mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford on 31 July 2024 and already had nine points on her licence.
  • Watson, a University of Oxford student, was ordered to pay a total of £1,044 at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, though she did not attend the hearing.
  • Separately, Zoe Wanamaker, who played Madam Hooch in the Harry Potter series, also received a six-month driving ban at the same court.
  • Wanamaker was fined £1,044 for driving 46mph in a 40mph zone on the M4 on 7 August 2024, having also accumulated nine points prior to the incident.
