  • A “serious” near-collision occurred at Nice Côte d’Azur airport on Sunday evening between a Nouvelair flight and an easyJet aircraft.
  • Nouvelair flight BJ586, inbound from Tunis, mistakenly approached runway 04R instead of 04L, where easyJet flight U24706 was preparing for take-off.
  • The Nouvelair Airbus A320 passed just 50 feet above the easyJet aircraft before performing a go-around, with poor weather conditions cited as a possible factor.
  • The Nouvelair flight landed safely 15 minutes later, while the easyJet flight was cancelled, and no injuries were reported on either aircraft.
  • The French Bureau d’Enquetes et d’Analyses has launched an investigation into the incident, which the French transport minister described as "significant”.
