Travel advice for Qatar after Israel’s airstrike on the capital

  • On 9 September, Israel launched an airstrike targeting Hamas's leadership in Doha, Qatar, as part of its wider campaign, with six believed to have been killed.
  • Qatar condemned the strikes as a "cowardly attack" and "criminal assault".
  • Despite the attack, Doha's Hamad International Airport has continued to operate as scheduled, with flights largely undisrupted.
  • Qatar Airways confirmed that its operations were not impacted and there have been no disruptions, prioritising passenger safety.
  • The UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advises British nationals in Qatar to be vigilant but has not issued any warnings against travel to the country, meaning no special refund conditions apply for cancellations.
