VISITORS to the Kirov, St Petersburg next Saturday will see the head of the Royal Shakespeare Company's music chief Guy Woolfenden looming from the pit. He is making his Russian debut at the first performance there of his score for Anna Karenina, a three-act arrangement drawn from some of Tchaikovsky's less familiar pieces - including piano and chamber works, suites and overtures, incidental music and dances from operas. It was commissioned by Australian Ballet in 1979 for Andre Prokovsky to choreograph.
