Part of The Walking Dead town up for sale

Fans of US zombie drama The Walking Dead with a spare $680,000 (£440,000) can now purchase a huge chunk of a town where part of the series was filmed.

The Walking Dead is currently in its fifth season, and tells the story of a beleaguered cast of characters as they search for safety from a world overtaken by zombies.

Former Gratnville mayor Jim Sells is selling nine buildings which stand across nearly 34,000 square feet of usable space in the downtown area.

The buildings were featured in Episode 12 of The Walking Dead Season 3, "Clear", when Rick and Carl return to their hometown.

Mr Sells told USA Today that he hopes the buyer will have experience in owning commercial property, after he bought and renovated the building out of foreclosure during the recession.

The former textile town fell on hard times in the 1970s and 1980s and the mills closed, and residents moved elsewhere.

The town now is now making money from The Walking Dead tourists, who come from around the world, Sells told the newspaper.

The eBay advert for the town teasingly states that three movies production teams have signed up to film in Grantville, starring “two very well-known actors”, with income from the projects will go to the next owner.
