Marge Simpson calls out disrespectful 'name-calling'

Marge Simpson herself has responded to Trump’s adviser after being compared to Kamala Harris.

Shortly after Harris was announced as the Democratic vice presidential candidate, Jenna Ellis said that she “sounds like Marge Simpson” in reference to the popular Simpsons character.

Marge, who is voiced by Julie Kavner, is the matriarch of the Simpson family in the beloved long-running animated series.

In a new video, Marge says she feels “pissed off” by the comparison made by one of Trump’s senior legal advisors and attorneys.

“I usually don’t get into politics, but the president’s senior adviser Jenna Ellis just said Kamala Harris sounds like me,” she said, adding: “Lisa says she doesn’t mean it as a compliment.

“As an ordinary suburban housewife, I’m starting to feel a little disrespected.”

Issuing a stern message to Ellis, she added: “I teach my children not to name-call, Jenna.”

In response, Ellis – an outspoken critic of mail-in voting at the US election – said: “Marge is probably going to vote Democrat... by mail.”

Fans of The Simpsons reacted with indignation after Ellis compares Marge to Harris.

Many people noted how the insult – an apparent dig at Harris’s credentials for the role of vice president – had backfired.

“Anybody being compared to Marge Simpson has lived their life right,” wrote one commenter.
