Trevor Noah poked fun at the “whitest Democratic presidential debate yet”, which saw progressives Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders spar ahead of the nomination season.
The televised discussion took place in Iowa, and the visible tensions between Warren and Sanders became the subject of Noah's commentary.
“Those are the last people you’d expect to go after each other like this,” the Daily Show presenter said. “It’s like seeing R2-D2 and C-3PO become enemies.”
While Sanders denied the claims – “Anybody who knows me knows that it’s incomprehensible,” he said – Warren stood firm by saying the following:
“Look, this question about whether or not a woman can be president has been raised, and it’s time for us to attack it head-on.
“Collectively, [the men on this stage] have lost ten elections. The only people on this stage who have won every single election that they’ve been in are the women. [Senator Amy Klobuchar] and me. And the only person on this stage who has beaten an incumbent Republican anytime in the past 30 years is me.”

Noah compared this moment to the scene in Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill that sees Uma Thurman’s character massacre O-Ren Ishii’s army, The Crazy-88.
“God damn! Not since Kill Bill, have I seen one woman obliterate that many men in one fell swoop,” he quipped to cheers from the crowd.
