Tired Pony are a supergroup of sorts, comprising Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol), Peter Buck (REM), producer Jacknife Lee and assorted less stellar mates from Belle & Sebastian et al.

The initial idea was to allow Lightbody an outlet for his love of country/Americana. The trouble, second time around, is that apart from a bit of pedal steel and some gospel backing vocals, it sounds a lot like a Snow Patrol record, rendering the whole exercise somewhat redundant.
