What if Kraftwerk were French and wrote love songs? The combintation of tech and house minimalism with deadpan, double-tracked vocal intonations might have a very similar flavour to the kind of lovesick electro-pop that this Parisian duo essay on their first album. Where a couplet like "What a great life/Alright" is saturated with irony, and then underscored with the line "Melancholy is my wife". There's a patch of soggy torch songs in the middle of the album, but the rest is all about standing at the edge of the dancefloor, secretly wanting to join in but smoking a Gauloise and being achingly cool instead.
