If you're going to take the name Kurt Vile – although the 33-year-old from Philadelphia claims he was born with it – then you have some serious living up to do.

Sadly, WOAPD is devoid of the sly wit of Vile's early material, and consists of mid-paced alt rock, reminiscent of the Dandy Warhols in a coma. It drifts by like a train journey through 11 identically featureless suburbs. It's almost impossible to review, because it barely bothers to exist.
