Ciaran is Super Furry Animals' resident tech-wizard, the guy invariably left on stage twiddling knobs at the end of "The Man Don't Give a Fuck".

Perhaps coincidentally, "What happened to all the people who gave a fuck?" are the opening words of Outside In, a solo debut which tones down the techno to recall early Bowie, the Plastic Ono Band and The Band, and is every bit as enjoyable as any of Gruff Rhys's recent efforts. Pethau hyfryd.
