XXXTentacion's ex-girlfriend says she was kicked out of late rapper's memorial
Geneva Ayala posts her frustrations about being forced to leave the vigil on Instagram
XXXTentacion's ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala says she was kicked out of the late rapper's memorial in Florida - and even had her flowers burned.
"They kicked me out of the vigil. So damn disrespectful. I can’t believe people are that selfish," Ayala wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. "I wasn’t even there 25 minutes and I literally got pulled away from the memorial."
She added: "I just wanted to stay. I wasn’t bothering anyone. This is unfair. I’m absolutely devastated."
The late rapper's ex-girlfriend had brought items to the vigil - including a globe and flowers - as a tribute to him, but fans burned them.
"I left those things for him… I can’t believe they’d do that," she wrote, alongside an image of burned headphones. "Where is the respect?"
Ayala had previously claimed that the 20-year-old rapper - born Jahseh Onfroy - abused her, and threatened to cut out her tongue and rape her.
Prior to being fatally shot outside of a motorcycle shop in Florida on Monday, X was awaiting trial for allegedly assaulting Ayala.
Ayala told prosecutors that she was attacked by X "every three or four days" since they met in May 2016.
According to a 142-page testimony obtained by Pitchfork, X allegedly beat Ayala in October 2016 while she was pregnant until her eye bled and her face was disfigured.
Back in 2016, Ayala had started a GoFundMe for a nearly $20,000 orbital eye surgery following the alleged abuse.
Prior to X's death, she had barely met the $25,000 goal; however, funds began pouring in after his murder, and she's since received over $34,000 in donations.
Despite the abuse allegations and the impending trial, Ayala posted a tweet saying she was "broken" about her ex-boyfriend's untimely death.
