Sir Tom Jones has been confirmed to headline the British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park on Sunday 13 July.

The Voice coach will headline the same stage that rock legends The Rolling Stones played last year.

The “It’s Not Unusual” singer will be supported by recently reunited Irish band Boyzone and X Factor winners Little Mix.

Sir Tom joins already confirmed headline acts including Black Sabbath, McBusted and Neil Young, with more artists due to be announced soon.

The veteran Welsh crooner last played in London’s Hyde Park in September 2012 as part of BBC Radio 2’s Live in Hyde Park festival.

Speaking about his return to headline the park’s stage, he said: “I love playing in Hyde Park, it's such a beautiful place and so many of the greats have played there.

"There is a real sense of musical history and a fantastic atmosphere that comes with playing in the middle of a great London park on a wonderful summer evening.”

Sir Tom, who starts his worldwide tour in Nashville later this month, will support Morrissey as a special guest during a concert at the LA Sports Arena on 10 May.

Tickets for the British Summer Time festival will go on sale on Friday 11 April at 9am.
