Kanye West pop-up show canceled after massive crowds turn up in New York

Kanye West had a secret pop-up show cancelled on Sunday night after his Governors Ball headlining set was nixed due to inclement weather.

After Governors Ball officially cancelled their third and final day, West teased a series of performances across New York City. First, his creative director Virgil Abloh posted an Instagram photo teasing a secret 2am show in Manhattan, then, 2Chainz posted an image appearing to show the entire GOOD Music crew kicking it at Webster Hall.

Fans of The Life of Pablo rapper began rushing to the intimate East Village venue, resulting in a chaotic scene of people climbing United States Postal Service trucks, commercial vehicles and just about every fire escape within arms reach.

After a standstill for several hours with more than 5,000 people seeking entry to the venue that holds approximately 1,500 patrons, West tweeted that the show was sold out. Soon after, "Webster Hall issued a tweet saying, There is no late show at Webster Hall tonight. Please get home safely." For some reason, both messages did not register to fans, as they stood there unphased awaiting another surprise announcement, but mostly unable to escape due to the sheer volume of the crowd.

New York Police Department officials and Webster Hall reps said that there were no known arrests made on early Monday morning, and there's currently no known property damage in the area. This still hasn't prevented media outlets from falsely reporting that there were "near riots" in the area.
