Kanye West has finally confirmed in unambiguous terms that he is working on a new joint album with Drake.

Rumours first began flying after the logos from their respective GOOD Music and OVO record labels appeared together on a LA billboard. Then, at OVO Fest in August, Kanye strongly hinted at the collaboration when he yelled “Is y’all ready for this album?” before pointing at Drake and back to himself.

Now, he has sent hip hop fans into excitement overdrive by sharing further details with Vogue during an interview about his new Yeezy Season 4 collection. “We’re just working on a bunch of music together, having fun going into the studio,” he said. “We’re working on an album so there’s some exciting things coming up soon.”

Kanye and Drake have joined forces before, most recently when Yeezy and Jay Z contributed a verse to “Pop Style” on Drizzy’s hit album Views. Drake lent his credentials to Kanye’s The Life of Pablo, too, co-writing “30 Hours” with the rapper.

Both artists have released collaborative albums or mixtapes with others before - Kanye with Jay Z in 2011 (Watch the Throne) and Drake with Future last year (What a Time to be Alive)

The upcoming album’s title, release date and tracklist are yet to be announced but rest assured we’ll be keeping our beady eyes on any developments.
