Sir: Sue Gaisford's assumption that the first refreshing shower fell on Adam and Eve (Evolutions In Design, 13 November) is not borne out by the Bible which doesn't mention rain until Noah. Before his time the earth may well have been watered by the mist mentioned in Genesis 2 v. 6.
