Letter: In Brief

Sir: David Willetts (Right of Reply, 10 November) says that "abolishing grammar schools would at best bring only one or two academically gifted pupils into the average classroom in other schools." I wonder which of his "two brains" did the sums. He should get the other one on to the task - starting with Kingston with two grammar schools and 10 other secondary schools. I suspect it may come up with a different answer.
